The Importance of Being Seven

This morning I paid another visit to 44 Scotland Street, McCall Smith's delightful serial novel set in modern day Edinburgh.

Bertie is still battling adults ... well Irene ... to become a real boy. One couple is shocked by the impending appearance of triplets. Another threesome has an interesting trip to Italy. This and other aspects of Edinburgh life are depicted with charm grace and compassion.

Oh there's also an Isobel Dalhousie book out at the moment too!
