About the Bastard Tudor Prince

January 4th 2008 07:27
Two books about
Henry First Duke of Richmond and Somerset.

The first one I have read and can recommend.

BASTARD PRINCE

Bastard Prince Henry VIII's Lost Son Written by Beverly A. Murphy 2001.

Learn about the boy who nearly became Henry the Ninth.

People wonder why Henry the Eighth went mad with grief and became obsessed with a heir. The sudden death probably from a viral infection of his one acknowledged male bastard Henry 1519 - 1536 is a factor often overlooked and unmentioned by historians.

Wikipedia also has an article on the subject that mentions another book which I have not read called

TUDOR BASTARD

This was written by Heather Hobden and publishe din the same year as the Murphy book.

Enjoy hunting for them and learn more about this lost Tudor prince.

My sympathies are always with bastards, Julie, but where's the time to be reading about them?

I think you have a secret I've missed out on.

HI katyzzz!

I treid to answer this yesterday but the server was playing up ... how do I find time to read ... actually its more of a where and when ... some of these reviews are books I 've read before and others ... well I happened to walk past the Tudor Prince book in the library and thought I'ld dig out my notes on it to share.

I read during TAFE breaks and if I'm on a train or bus and have finished the paper. Given how bad TV has been lately I generally get an hour in the evening sometimes more if I'm researching something major.

Reading also functions as brain reset when I've spent too long working on one particular image!

It also helps that I use the online library catalogue to find out when books have come into the library so I can get tehm as soon as possible and I try to space out my reservations so books arrive when I'm not working.

However less tiem for reading next week.

Having sold NOT one single Xmas card I am now racking my brains trying to think of something with commercial appeal for the Asian New Year and Easter.

I did finish my pdf art catalog so I waste hours emailing that out to dealers for them to ignore and not bother responding to!

oh why do I find time to read ... to save my sanity?

If any of my readers lurking read this please pass on the urls for my art work to others if you overheard anyone mentioning they need to want new wall art?

I'd rather be reading then squinting at pixels and scans and looking at stats trying to figure out how to get my art to sell!

My secret for finding reading time ... use of public transport and good planning?
