Do you know the Legend of Cyrano promoted by films based on Rostand's play?

Consider reading aobut the historical person behind the legend, a swordsman, soldier, and writer of an early SF novel who may have been bisexual? Oh and he was also descended from a Sardinian fishmonger not Gascon aristos! Cirano was his family name and the Bergerac part of the name comes form an estate they brielfy owned outside of Paris.
