This is an exceptional Cook book. The fact that I'm reviewing a cook book, something I do not normally do, says something about its excellence!
It has all the standards plus some new recipes drawing on Greek traditions that Bernardis has developed that all Australians, of Greek heritage, or not, can enjoy!
If you're new to Greek cooking it also explains some of the ingredients and cheeses and herbs used and their cultural signifiance.
Buy or borrow this one and try out some of the recipes especially if like me you live a long way from those Greek pastry shops in the southern subs!
P.S. Yogurt cake with lemon syrup is a great summer dish!
P.P.S. If you cant get Greek style plain yogurt try buttermilk or Indian or European style yogurt!
