The Blanket of the Dark

John Buchan 1931
Paperback reprint Polygon Books 2008

I've read most of Buchan thirty novels save a few that are out of print and its always a pleasure when I find one of those few have been reprinted!

The Blanket of the Dark is set in Tudor England 1536.

It may be Merry Old England if you're a favorite of King Henry the Eighth but not if you're an over taxed peasant or a monk about to lose your abbey.

Peter Pentecost is about to live dangerously and be caught up in one of the many rebellions against Henry the Eighth for many remember the Plantagenets and would prefer the last survivors of that dynasty over the first of the upstart Tudors.

Enjoy fine historical fiction thats also a classic.

Read this and other Buchan books.
