Buchan's Gorbal Diehards
John Buchan is well known for writing that Classic of the thriller Genre The Thirty Nine Steps but he also wrote several other works featuring Richard Hannay and a sequence of three books featuring the adventures of the Gorbal Diehards and their allies Dickson McCunn the valiant retired grocer and other associates.
I'm currently rereading the final book The House of the Four Winds.
The Children of the first book have grown up and Jaikie has gone from being what we might call a street kid to an university graduate. On vacation after graduating he becomes involved by an accidental encounter with the politics of Evallonia in Eastern Europe.
The other two books are Huntingtower and Castle Gay.
Your library may have them and they are continually reprinted every few years.
Adventure Politics Thrilling Action Characters Scotland Castles and much more!
If you like thrillers read Buchan's books!
