CHINA CUCKOO

How I lost a fortune and found a life in china

Mark Kitto 2009

Not quite biography or travel but definitely an interesting account of a British expat's love affair with Moganshan.

Moganshan is a mountain village near Hangzhou once used as a summer retreat by foreigners and now used by local people and foreigners rediscovering its charms which include neglected Art Deco buildings.

This is the sotry of how Mark Kitto discovered Moganshan and ended up living there and running a coffee shop. He also gives us the history of the village and an insight into local life amongst the Chinese residents.

Enjoy!
