Dexter in the Dark
Jeff Lindsay brings us Dexter Morgans' Third "Playdate"
Some critics have not like dhte use of "M' in this book but it certianly gives Dexter an opponent literally bigger and older than him who scares away his Dark Passenger.
Dexter has to find out why his shadow has disappeared, and as their future step parent mentor and start training Astor and Cody before they do something worse then be caught experimenting on a neighbour's cat, and survive the wedding caterer from Hell, while trying to help his sister catch a killer with a bizarre pattern that frightens even Dexter.
Reading Dexter is a darkly disturbing delight!
