Tired of all the cliches in Gaming and Sword and Sorcery?
You know the average quest has an elf a dwarf a thief a wizard a prince or warrior etcetcetc and evil monsters guarding a treasure blah blah blah .
If you want to read something that satirizes this genre and yet is also a serious if light wieght fantasy adventure try Goblin Quest and experience a Quest from the viewpoint of the little guy who usually gets killed early in the book.
Jig is a short sighted blue skinned goblin who lives underground. Unfortunately his caverns are on route to a tunnel that leads to zombies vampire bats a Fairy Necromancer and a very evil and bored dragon ... oh and some treasure.
Jig is shanghaied to be "native" guide to a conceited warrior prince his somewhat unstable and arrogant magician brother a scaredy cat elf girl thief and a dwarf who 's obsessed with cartography.
I beleive Jim Hines has written a sequel called Goblin Hero.
I intend to read it soon!
Meanwhile enjoy Goblin Quest! You will smile. You may even laugh?
Warning there is a cute animal companion. Well cute if you like neurotic fire spiders!
