The God of the Hive
Laurie R. King
This is the sequel or rather the second complementary part of a duology of which The Language of Bees was the first. The cliffhanger ending of the first book now makes sense as a plot involving Damian And Estelle Adler and a strange cult turns out merely to be a diversion for an attack on Mycroft Holmes. Not a good idea. Crossing any member or ally of the Holmes no matter how complicated a strategem of diversions and false leads you use is not wise.
A deeply satisfying work full of diversions twist and turns and complications that keep you reading to the end and a strange afternote that suggests a little magic at work?
Read it in one long session and treat it as a banquet.
