House of Suns

Alastair Reynolds'
Latest "Space Opera"

Wow! This is a biggie. Truly a space opera with drama and action on a scale starting at operatic and soaring across galaxies to hypercosmic!

Meet Abigail Gentian and her scatterlings, once a clan of a thousand clones who regularly meet to share memories of their journeys across the Galaxy. Two of them, Campion and Purslane, have accidentally and quite unknowingly discovered some suppressed data and memories that will lead to the near annihiliation of the House of Flowers, Gentian Line.

Fortunately in the course of their journeys they encounter Hesperus, a machine person, and the Spirit of the Air, a post human intelligence.

If you're in the moood for literally cosmic action and can cope with a big thick volume of SF action read this! Awesome! **********
