In Arabian Nights
Tahir Shah

In Search of Morrocco through its stories and storytellers.

Learn about memory culture tradition and Sufis.

As a child Tahir Shah visited Morocco on holidays and as an adult he returned and bought Dar Khalifa, the Caliph's House. As the son of Idris Shah noted expert of Sufism Tahir was raised to respect traditional story telling as a spiritual medium for teaching wisdom.

This book is about his quest for Moroccan stories to preserve and transmit them and his adventures questing for them. Enjoy!

P.S. Yes there is discussion of the Arabian Nights story telling tradition and how its viewed inside Islamic culture!
