Jeff Micham: Ceramics
Margot Osborne 2009
Did you miss Jeff Mincham's touring exhibition?
This is the book that goes with it.
Slender but compact it outlines his biography and development as a potter / ceramicist from his training as a watercolorist to his first Raku works and recent vessels with his unique mid range glazes.
If you are a ceramicist or potter or just enjoy collectinf for looking at good craft consider this book. I borrowed my copy from the Tafe library.
You might want to recommend your library acquire one. Jeff Minxham is one of the great Australian ceramicists of the 20th century.
He's the sort of artists who produces pieces that look simple yet are the result of intelligence craft research expertise and much more. Those glazes for a start. ... Read it carefully. Don't just enjoy the pictures!
