MANI

Travels in the
Southern Peloponnese

Patrick Leigh Fermor 1958

This classic of the travel genre is a journey through and look at the folklore people and history of Greece and the Maniots. While the primary purpose of the book was to describe his journey through the Mani peninsula there are delightful and informative digressions into history and folklore, ancient, byzantine, mediaeval, and modern.

If you want to learn more about Greece read this!
