Temples Tombs and Heiroglyphs

A Popular History of Ancient Egypt
by Barbara Mertz
also known as Elizabeth Peters

As well as ACTUALLY being formally trained as an Egyptologist this authoress also writes excellent fiction particularly the Amelia Peabody series.
This is the 2nd 2007 edition of a book written in 1964.

Give or at least recommend it to any beginning student of Egyptology or enjoy it yourself for the comments opinions and insights into Egyptology.

Informative and entertaining! **********
