The Shadows of Mindor: A Star Wars Novel

LUKE SKYWALKER
and the Shadows of Mindor
Matthew Stover 2008
Yes this is LIGHT fiction but it's fun. If you enjoy a well crafted media tie-in novel you'll like this one. It captures some of the joyousness of the first film and yet also has several moments of absolutely delicious irony when the author has fun with some of the cliches of the Star Wars genre.
Apparently some Imperial has produced a holodrama called REVENGE OF THE JEDI !
The Imperial responisble is a dark sider who wants to lure Luke to Mindor.
Obviously mayhem and mass destruction results as Luke the Rogues Lando Solo and Leia all end up on or in orbit around Mindor struggling with a dying planet surrounded by a massive unstable asteroid field, a Dark Lord who's perhaps seen one too many holodramas, a bunch of clone stormtroopers who think Luke is the new Emperor, refugees trying to get off Mindor, and the Melters, a strange silicon life form.
Enjoy!
About the author: Matthew Stover has written other Star Wars novels including Shatterpoint and also the excellent fantasy duology Iron Dawn and Jericho Moon.
