Mountain Bread Cookbook
Do you eat or use Mountain Bread? I'm talking about a brand of Lebanese flat bread/wraps sold in Australia. Why? You might want to check the bread shelf and see if your supermarket got copies of a promo recipe book freebie!
I found mine sitting on the bottom shelf while cruising down the bread aisle looking for buns to make sausage and salad rolls.
So why am I promoting a supermarket freebie. Cos I actually do use and eat Mountain Bread and the recipes in this book are quite sensible and NOT the sort that make you grit your teeth and read in a subtext of " and also buy these other expensive ingredients we stock ..."
Also the company has a website www.mountainbread.com with more recipes.
The recipes include useful stuff like using mountain bread as a sub for lasagne sheets tart cases cold noodles cannelloni moussaka and lemon meringue tarts baklava and bread and butter pudding.
If you didnt have time to shop on Thursday and you're racking your brains for recipes to sue up leftovers it might be worthwhile checking out the site?
Me I'm glad I usually have a packet in the cupboard sitting near the noodles and rice.
Oh one other thing about Mountain Bread the REsealable bags they use are great for packing lunches or sheets of paper and I've used them for storing brushes and sponges and other art supplies!
This has been an entirely UNsolicited plug for a product I actually use.
wonder what the chances are that the company will come across the blog and send me some freebies? Anyway enjoy the bread and any other Easter goodies you're making or buying!
