My Invented Country

(Mi pais Inventado)

A Memoir Isabel Allende

Defintley more a memoir than biography Isabel Allende records more of the memories of her home country and its people that inspire her fiction. This is a translation from a spanish original and the work is strongly haunted by the ghost of the Spanish text. Altho muy Spanish is limited I was left with the strong feeling that Cliean Spanish has a peculiar fresh sharp flavor as used by Allende ... and also an urge to read Pablo Neruda.

This is light but excellent reading of the sort that invokes images and ghosts.

Classic Allende! Enjoy!
