The British Museum probably has the largest holding of fragments of the tomb paintings from the Theban official called Neb-Amun who lived in the late 18th century B.C.E.
The actual tomb site was probably in the Dra Abu el Naga area but is now lost either destroyed by treasure hunters or buried under the rubble of later digs.
What remains as beautifully photographed for this book are pictures that show that unique Egyptian balance of a stylized formula based on a grid with a naturalistic approach to minor details that marks Egyptian art.
Neb Amun's tomb is famous for its images of the man and his family hunting birds among the reeds and the exquisite details of geese and cattle being presented for assessment by workers on a farm estate and the portrayal of guests and dancers at a banquet.
The history context and background of the works are discussed and illustrated and the book includes one of the only photos I have ever seen of ancient Egyptian brushes along with the pigments commonly used.
This is an excellent book and I highly recommend its acquisition for any library.
