At last a biography from an Iranian viewpoint written by a scholar fluent in Englsih Arabian and Persian who has studied Khayam's life and society.
Khayyam's actual name had a i on the end by the way.
This book discusses the society and cities Khayaam lived in and includes a translation of the Rubiayat and its text and discusses the significance of Khayyam as a scientist and sceptic working within Islamic society dealing with politicians conservatives fanatics warriors and others. A wonderful work!

In daayerhii kaamadano raftane maast
Aantaa na bedaayat na nahaayat peidaast
Kas mii nazanad dami darin ma nii raast
Kin aamadan az kojaavo raftan be kojaast
you've have to buy the book or borrow it from your library or beg your library to buy it to find out what it means!
