Add one Old Captain ORBUS a virally mutated human "Hooper" with super strength who can regenerate from near lethal injuries at the risk of becoming a psychotic brainless monster. Then there's Sniper a war drone and his companion Thirteen AI robots fleeing the Polity.
Insert them into the Graveyard in what was supposed to be a salvage run.
Mix in dangerous Jain tech and the strange effects of the Spatterjay virus on humansd and Prador.
Moons and planets burn and explode. Monsters run amok. Lotta of explosions and oh some serious irony when a sentient crustacean learns compassion can be a survival trait.
But you''ll have to read thru to the end of the book to get the full irony of that observation!
