PERSIAN FIRE

Tom Holland

I recently finally had the opportunity to read Tom Holland's Persian Fire.

It's sub titled The First World Empire and the Battle for the West.

Holland shows us the (probable) viewpoint of both the Greeks and the Persians drawing primarily on Herodotus' accounts but also other historians to recount the events and battles leading up to and during the Persian Wars against Greece.

Even if you are unfamiliar with the period you'll enjoy this well written work!

Buy it for your self or your local or school library!
