Want to read a book that makes you feel you're watching anime?
This book does!
I kept putting off borrowing and reading this cos to my dismay the library bought the third book in this series about Detective Inspector Chen of Singapore Three and his Demon partner Zhu from the Chinese Underworld and didnt buy the first two!
Fortunately there are snippets of back story skilfully woven into the novel allowing one to quickly grasp the scenario.
Chen's Singapore Three where Chinese Gods battle demonic powers is an almost but not quite our Singapore some time in the near future.
In this book Precious Dragon is a small boy born to a ghost and returned to Earth.
Meanwhile visiting Hell Chen and Zhu have stranger problems.
This book reminds me of Japanese anime, traditional culture and symbols strangly mutated to fit into a scenario that ... well its a wierd but fascinating adventure!
