Like Alternate history and what ifs? The central premise of this collected series is Superman arriving in 1938 in the Ukraine NOT Kansas!
Raised as a socialist worker sponsored by Stalin Superman changes his world.

This inverted version of the Superman mythos has excellent scripting supported by great art and some wierd wonderful ideas. Lex Luthor as a 30's 40s pulp style super scientist. The Batmen of Russia as an anarchist underground. Superman robots. Then there's the final ironic twist at the end!
