and the Demented Doctor

Medicus Gaius Petreius Ruso has been sent to the outpost of Coria a small frontier fort (now Corbridge in northern England) along with Tilla his slave and concubine and off and on medical and investigative assistant. A solider has been killed and beheaded probably by the Stag Man a local terrorist but the fort's doctor is also claiming to have done it and there are other local suspects.
Some of them are Tilla 's relatives and former friends and enemies. Ruso has to find the murder and clean up the mess that is the fort's infirmary and also resolve his relationship with Tilla before the Governor arrives for an inspection.
Visit the Roman frontier where you cant trust the locals, Celtic or Roman, since everyone has a secret or a problem they need poor Ruso to solve!
This is the second book in the Medicus series about a Roman Army doctor.
The first book was Ruso and the Disappearing Dancing Girls.
