Star Trek Titan: Synthesis
James Swallow

The Titan series of Star Trek tie-in novels are the "quiet achievers" of the Star Trek universe bringing us the continuing adventures of the crew of the Titan commanded by Riker now married to Deanna Troy. The writers of the Titan books have brought back minor characters from older TV episodes and other Star Trek novels and made good use of themespecially one of them.

In this book the Titan crew encounter a machine culture of robots and AIs who are trapped in an endless war with a creature from subspace called the Null. Recent hostilies with the Borg don't help the situation.

Read it if only because James Swallow has created a worthy replacement for DATA! Go on read it! It's not Hugo or Nebula material but its well crafted adventure. Oh one more spoiler that is Minuet on the cover!

It's a pity they dont try filming some of the better ST novelizations!
