The Crowning Privilege by Robert Graves
is a collection of various of his essays and lectures about Poetry .
The first edition was the Cassell of 1955. The edition I have is the Penguin paperback version of 1959.By Robert Graves, yes I mean the writer the of the White Goddess and Greek Myths and over a 140 published works about poetry, mythology, and literature, and also the historical novels I Claudius and Claudius the God .
The wikipedia site on Robert Graves has a list of most of his works!
My particular favorites in this volume are his essay on Sor Juana under her birth name Juana de Asbaje and the Clarke Lectures and a witty parody of Pound called Doctor Syntax and Mr Pound.
Definitely a reading pleasure if you enjoy lively prose?
