The Murder Farm

Andrea Maria Schenkel

I have just finished reading Anthea Bells translation of this German novel. Called Tannod in German this is a genuine literary mystery and I was actually surprised when the murderer was revealed. No I will not say who it was. This book is powerful and skilful writing with the multiple witness accounts handled beautifully and relevantly with each account revealing a new aspect of the relationships and connections between the characters and the events that lead to the deaths. This is a superb book and although only about 200 pages and less long that's an advantage. You can follow the flow of the prose thru to the end!

Enjoy!
