The Tide Lords Bk 2 Jennifer Fallon
There are now four books in the Tide Lords series with the 4th being the Chaos Crystal.
I've two and I'm waiting for some one to return book 3 to the library.
So how does this compare to other books by Fallon.
Yes there is some romance and plenty of relationships but also irony and some very solid reality building.
The central concept of this series is that millennia ago a varied group of mortals achieved immortality including the power to regenerate from any injury and for some but not all of them power to manipulate the elements and reality at what we would call a quantum level to the extent their moments of anger at anything or one can escalate into the creation of deserts and inland seas and the reduction of continents to island chains . Unfortunately this group included megalomaniacs sociopaths neurotics and warriors and one manic depressive who keeps getting bored with immortality and trying to get other people to kill him.
The Immortal Prince's last attempt brought him to Glaeba where two immortals are plotting to gain a realm for the Tide is turning, The power levels of the immortals fluctuate over the centuries and they go into hiding when the levels of what they call the Tide are low to avoid vengeful mortals including the Tarot Cabal.
In this second book Arkady and her husband are in exile and things only get worse as Jaxyn sets up his former lover as a traitor, Arkady ends up in a state of ... and one character becomes the thing he loathes the most ...
Find out more about the Gods of this world who may be immortal but certainly are not "divine" .
Enjoy Fallons' skills at world building and characterization in this series.
