An Honorverse Novel.
Two of the many dangerous people in the Honorverse are Anton Zilwicki and Victor Cachat. Mesa have upset them by harming and threatening their friends and relatives and star nations of Manticore Torch and Haven. One could almost feel sympathy for Mesa if its ruling elite the Alignment were not ideology driven fanatics hellbent on applying "genetic uplift" to the whole human race without their consent.
Mesa think they're within decades or mere years of controlling and dominating the rest of the human occupied and colonized parts of the Galaxy.
They even think by the end of this book that Zilwicki and Cachat are dead.
They're wrong. I do so want to see the scene in the next book when Detweiler finds out Cachat and Zilwicki escaped and are about to expose their plans and policies. Hehehe
