I do hope the appearance of this collection of 3 short novels means that we might see some more stories or books featuring Diane Tregarde, Jennifer Talldeer and the new character introduced in the third story, a technoshaman, Ellen McBride?

Merecedes Lackey writes the Valdemar series and the 500 Kingdoms and co-authors a fantasy / alt hist series. She has also written urban fantasy.

Enjoyable holiday reading.
