Young Potter is NOT the only wizard called Harry. Warden Dresden, Harry to his friends and allies, is also a wizard, but a thoroughly urban one, living in Chicago as a P.I. when not on offical business. In both roles he fights supernatural and other problems.
His half brother is a vampire depised by his vampiric clan for trying to not feed randomly.
He has a teenage disciple who's still not very disclipined and makes near lethal errors.
Many of his fellow wizards don't trust him because of his mother's misdeeds, apart from sleeping with a vampire, as Harry was fostered by a black magician.
A skinwalker, a shape shifting Amerind mythos demon has come to Chicago on a killing rampage.
And now one of his oldest enemies has turned up on his doorstep literally asking for asylum from a trumped up murder charge.
Fortuantely Harry's friends and allies include shamans, the local fairy militia he's formed who will work for pizza, a pack of urban werewolves, and a large Tibetan Temple Dog.
Fortuante indeed as the secret faction in the council of Wizards are making yet another attempt to provoke the equivalent of a World War amongst and between the various supernatural and magical beings that haunt harass or help Harry Dresden.
