Taschen a Cologne or Koln based German publishing house creates splendid art reference books. This is one of a ongoing series on famous artists. If you want to learn about about Jan Van Eyck and his workshop or know your library(school or city) needs reference books I can thouroughly recommend this and I'm very grateful our library did buy it! It's good!

WHY? Its compact small thin yet information DENSE. There are 96 pages of high quality text and illo showing all the known or attributed works, paintings, drawings, or illluminated pages created by Jan Van Eyck or members of his workshop. Heard of the Turin- Milan hours?

Want to see his other devotional paintings as well as the Ghent Altarpiece?

Jan Van Eyck's motto added to several of his works was ALC IX XAN - As I can!

If you can I recommend you see if your library have a copy? Not only is it a great info source but its pleasureable reading for art lovers!
