It's a big thick paperback and the chain stores had it at Xmas! So is it worth reading! YES! I did wait for the library to get it though!
It's worth the wait.
The world of Roshar faces another "Desolation" perhaps its last one.
And those who should be its champions are enmeshed directly or indirectly in a nasty little war in the east of Roshar on the Shattered Plains.
Dalinar aristocrat prince and honorable warrior unfortunately the same cant be said for most of the lighteye rulers of his land. His nephew the King is paranoid. A former friend will betray him for politics. and then there's those annoying visions of what?
Kaladin Storm Blessed. Former trainee doctor who volunteered for the army to protect his younger brother and ended up a dishonored slave cos he was too honorable and skilled. He's fighting for hope and the survival of his fellow slaves.
Jasnah and her student Shallan 2 women scholars discovering terrible secrets about the forgotten history and physics of their world.
There's other wonderful characters to meet.
The assassin in White. The sage King with a very dark secret research project. Merchants. Jesters. Beggars.
