XENOPHON

XENOPHON
(didnt just write the ANABASIS!)

Memoirs of Socrates
and the Symposium

Translated By Hugh Tredennick Penguin 1970

This 40 year old translation uses a simple plain style reflecting the style of the author Xenophon. It's his memories and stories about Socrates and gives you a perspective that overlaps yet differs from that of Plato.

Dont just read the Anabasis. Try this work some time in Tredennick's or any other translation to expand your view of Socrates.
