This is the 2009 English translation of El Caballero del jubon amarillo 2003

Diego Alatriste and his page / trainee Inigo just cant stay out of trouble.

Alatriste is having an affair with a famous actress but unfortunately the King of Spain is also interested in the lady. Accused of a murder which turns out to be an actor hired to be adouble for the King Alatriste must clear his name and end a plot against the King.

Swashbuckling action and yet deep tragic irony set in 17th Spain as an Empire fades.
