This is the history of a myth and also a biography of Zeus recounting all the old stories about him and how they might have developed in response to events and cultural changes in ancient Greece. Enjoy the writer's comments and descriptions of sites associated with the stories if you are a classics student who knows the legends but want sto learn more and if you're less familiar with ancient myths you can enjoy learning about Zeus and make use of the author's excellent notes and bibliography for further reading!
An excellent enjoyable read for students and scholars though be warned Stone has changed most of the names into their modern Greek pronounciation which could be disconcerting if you dont know any demotika?
